Training classes

We run training classes on Monday evenings at Hilton Equestrian Arena in Essington.

Our indoor venue allows us to train all year round, whatever the weather and has a great spectator area. It can get quite cold in winter so we have to wrap up warm!

We also have a private field nearby, where we offer additional ad hoc training for team members.

Our classes focus on safe, fun flyball exercises that help our handlers strengthen their bond with their dogs. We also offer opportunities to compete and join our flyball display team when both handler and dog are ready.

Flyball beginners courses

Our flyball beginners courses aim to give a taste of the sport so you can see if it’s right for you and your dog.

Over four training sessions you and your dog will learn the foundation skills and techniques needed for flyball from our knowledgeable and supportive team.

Class sizes will be small to provide the best learning environment. There’s also homework provided each week to help your progression.

Our flyball beginners courses are suitable for

Dogs who
✓ have basic obedience
✓ are comfortable around strangers
✓ are comfortable around other dogs
✓ are capable of a recall around distractions (with toys/food/praise to help!)
✓ are interested in tennis balls

People who
✓ enjoy being in a team
✓ love to learn new things
✓ are happy to do some flyball homework in-between classes

Course venues, times and prices may change slightly throughout the year. As a guide, our last 4 week course was held on Thursday evenings at our indoor venue in Essington at a cost of £50.
